Private Dining

If an occasion is worth celebrating, it should not be allowed to pass by without the sharing of food. Whatever your occasion, we will ensure that it will be one to remember.

Hafren House is an ideal place to hold a small party, conference or business lunch or dinner. We want you to enjoy your time with us, which can be as informal or formal as you wish. You will have sole use of our dining room and sitting room and, in good weather, our terrace and lawn. We can seat up to 12 people in our dining room for a formal occasion or cater for about 20 people for a buffet.

Allan has 20 years experience in the catering industry, including running his own popular seafood restaurant in Cornwall and holding the post of head of banqueting and head chef in an AA 2 Rosette restaurant. We will meet with you beforehand to discuss in detail your requests and wishes and any of your ideas for your party. Should any of your guests have specific dietary requirements, we will be delighted to create alternative dishes for them. We can also provide pre-dinner canapés, birthday cakes, flowers, printed menus and place cards.

All our food is freshly prepared and is sourced locally. We have a good rapport with our butcher and greengrocer and they are able to accommodate most of our requirements. Having lived in Cornwall for 4 years, we got to know the fish merchants well and we only use fish which is landed by “day boats” so that it is caught less than 24 hours before it reaches the table.

As we are not licensed, we are happy to serve any drinks supplied by you and can arrange to collect these prior to your event so that they are chilled. We always have plenty of ice and fresh lemons, sparkling mineral water and jugs of fresh water available. We can supply other soft drinks of your choice.
